Our online medical certificate service allows you to receive a medical certificate from an Australian Medical Board-certified doctor, without leaving home and if a certificate is issued we can email you the certificate following the consultation.
Online doctors are regular board-certified medical professionals. But instead of in-person they offer their consulting services online via phone or video. The qualifications of these doctors don’t differ from the doctors you see in-person. And many online doctors also offer in-person and virtual consultations.
The qualification and skill of online doctors differ from platform to platform. All medical practitioners working through the National Telemedicine Doctors’ platform are Australian Medical Board Certified medical professionals.
As the internet became more popular in the early 2000s, people came to rely on it as a key source of communication and information.
These days, health care is the second highest topic searched online. And as internet speeds become faster and online video conferencing software better and more secure, the demand for online doctors has increased.
Both patients and medical professionals enjoy the convenience, cost-saving, and availability of online consultations. This type of consultation has also shown to improve communication between doctor and patient.

How online medical certificate service works at National Telemedicine Doctors
“National Telemedicine Doctors” is as an online general medical platform to facilitate the treatment of patients by independent General Medical Practitioners and other health practitioners registered in Australia, who provide medical and healthcare services remotely via a secure video and/or audio consultation. These practitioners use the National Telemedicine Doctors web-based service to offer medical consultations to patients without an in-person consultation which does not include a physical examination.
At National Telemedicine Doctors, online doctor’s service simply means accessing clinical services from a qualified doctor using electronic communications and software, without actually visiting the doctor yourself in person. Our online medical services allow health care professionals to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients without a face-to face meeting. Telehealth/online doctor’s service is now frequently used for general medical consultations, follow-up visits, management of chronic conditions, medication management, specialist consultations and a host of other clinical services that can be provided remotely via secure video and/or audio.
Where it was once only available in limited circumstances from a few practitioners, telehealth/online doctor’s service has now evolved and become a widely-accepted mainstream way for you to access medical and health care.
Using National Telemedicine Doctor’s telehealth/online doctor platform, you can now consult an Australian Medical Board-certified doctor/GP in the comfort of our own home or office. Of course a face-to-face consultation with your regular GP is the ideal consultation, however a consultation with National Telemedicine Doctors is an effective and convenient alternative, when a face-to-face consultation is not possible. During your consultation your National Telemedicine Doctor/health practitioner will advise you if an in-person visit to a health practitioner is required.
BENEFITS OF TELEMEDICINE
An online consultation with National Telemedicine Doctors as an alternative to a face-to-face visit with a doctor has many benefits, including:
Please remember that consultations provided by National Telemedicine Doctors are not suitable in the case of medical emergencies requiring urgent treatment. In the case of emergencies, please contact your local emergency services immediately.
Do I need a referral for a Specialist/Allied Health Practitioner?
Any General Practitioner at National Telemedicine Doctors can write a referral for you if you need a referral to a specialist/allied Health practitioner. You may need a referral to see a registered specialist or health practitioner – if you take services of a specialist/allied Health practitioner without a referral, Medicare will not cover any of your costs.
COVID-19 ALERT
Stay home if you feel unwell, have a fever, cough or experience difficulty breathing to protect you and help prevent spread of viruses and other infections to others. Telehealth can help during the COVID-19 outbreak. If you can’t leave home during the coronavirus outbreak you can still consult a qualified Australian-registered general practitioner, by using the National Telemedicine Doctors online platform.
